From two hours a fortnight to daily visits
Most people start small — a couple of hours of cleaning and a lift to the shops — and build up as needs change. There is no minimum commitment and no notice period to reduce or stop.
The full list, in three groups
Twelve things, in three groups. If yours is not on the list it is still worth ringing — most of what we are asked for is some version of one of these.
Around the house
Where most people start.
- Domestic assistance. General cleaning, laundry, ironing, bed changes and the tasks that have become physically difficult. Usually two to three hours a visit. $68/hr.
- Spring clean. A deeper one-off clean, often before or after a hospital stay. Quoted as a job rather than hourly.
- Home maintenance & gardening. Lawn mowing, gutters, changing light globes and smoke alarm batteries. $74/hr.
- Shopping & errands. Done with you if you would like the outing, or for you if you would rather not. $68/hr.
Personal care
Same carer every visit, always.
- Showering & dressing. Help with washing, hair, dressing and grooming, at the time you actually want to shower. $68/hr.
- Continence support. Discreet assistance and management, including ordering and managing supplies. $68/hr.
- Mobility & transfers. Support moving safely around the house, including hoists or lifters an occupational therapist has prescribed. $68/hr.
- Overnight care. A carer stays overnight and is available if needed. $420 a night.
Health & clinical
Where a nurse is required rather than a carer.
- Registered nurse visits. Medication administration, wound care, injections, catheter care and clinical assessment. A carer cannot do these. $120 a visit.
- Medication prompting. Carers can remind, supervise and check a Webster pack has been taken. They cannot administer medication.
- Allied health coordination. We arrange and coordinate physiotherapy, podiatry and occupational therapy visits, including home safety assessments. Billed at the provider’s own rate.
- Respite for family carers. Regular blocks so a spouse or adult child can work, sleep or go away for a week. $68/hr.
Being clear about this saves families weeks
Not a nursing service
Our carers cannot administer medication, dress complex wounds or provide clinical care. We employ registered nurses for that and bill those visits separately.
Not 24-hour care
We do overnight sleepovers, but continuous around-the-clock care at home is rarely affordable or practical. At that stage residential care is usually the honest answer.
Not a dementia specialist unit
We support many clients with early and moderate dementia at home. Advanced dementia with significant behavioural risk needs a specialist setting.
A phone call today can start next week
Care coordinators answer directly — no call centre, no script. If something has just happened, say so; we hold capacity every week for urgent starts.
