A day at the bakehouse
A proper sourdough needs hours nobody sees.
Every shelf full, Tuesday to Sunday.
Most days. On a Saturday, closer to nine.
Ring the day before and we will hold yours until noon, free.
Fed daily
The starter
The starter behind the counter has been fed every day since the bakehouse opened: through Christmas, through the week the ovens broke, and on the one day a week we do not open.
The 4am start exists because of it. A proper sourdough needs hours nobody sees, and the only way to have it ready by 7am is to be the person nobody sees doing it.
Held until noon if you ring the day before.
Free, no deposit
Tell us what you want and which mornings. We put it aside before the doors open.
“The sourdough alone is worth the trip. I have never had it fail to sell out before I get there if I am not early.”
