A four-day retreat · Scenic Rim · 12–15 November

Somewhere quiet enough to hear yourself think.

For people who are not burnt out, exactly, but cannot remember the last time they finished a thought without being interrupted.

Five places left for November. The next retreat is in March.

Scenic Rim

A house that asks nothing of you.

Worn armchairs, a fireplace that is actually lit, and a long table laid for whoever comes down. You are not on a programme here.

I came expecting to be made to share something. Nobody asked me a single question I did not want to answer.

Theo · finance director, insurance

The timetable is real but you are genuinely allowed to ignore it. I ignored most of it and it was the best four days of my year.

Amara · product manager, telecoms
Guest

I slept for most of the first day. On the second I finished a thought. That sounds small and it was not.

Maya · partner, architecture practice
Retreat Guide

No phone amnesty, no circle, no journalling you have to read out. Just a house, a fire, and eighteen people being quiet together.

Daniel · GP, Brisbane
Guest

Booked it as a last resort and have been back twice since. The food alone would be worth the train.

I have done the silent ones and the intense ones. This is the only one I have recommended to someone I actually like.

Rob · principal, Toowoomba
Who comes

Mostly people who booked it as a last resort.

No two retreats have the same room in them. These are people who came, said yes to being named, and came back.

Your four days

A timetable you are free to ignore, written down so you know what you are ignoring.

Day one
Arrival & grounding

Arrive from three. Tea, a room, and no obligation to appear again until dinner if you would rather not.

Day two
Slowing down

The longest day and the emptiest. A walk if you want one, the fire if you do not, and a proper lunch either way.

Day three
Clarity work

The one session most people do turn up to. Ninety minutes, no sharing circle, and you may leave at any point.

Day four
Integration & departure

A slow breakfast, a last walk, and lifts to the station through the afternoon. Nobody is rushed out.
