Four weeks on a trial machine before you spend anything
$95 for the trial, refunded against a purchase. You get the machine, a fitted mask, and two review appointments where we read your compliance data and change what is not working — built in specifically to catch a trial that is not working, early.
Around half of all CPAP users abandon it in the first year, and it is almost never the machine. It is the mask, the pressure ramp or the dry mouth — all of which are fixable in a twenty-minute appointment if somebody bothers.
Comfort problems
What actually stops the machine feeling wearable.
The mask leaks or hurts. Almost always the wrong style or size rather than the wrong machine. We stock around twenty masks across three manufacturers and you try them on here. One free swap in the first thirty days.
Dry mouth and throat. Usually mouth leak on a nasal mask, or humidity set too low. A chin strap, a humidity adjustment or a full-face mask fixes the great majority of it.
It feels like too much air. Ramp settings, expiratory pressure relief and auto-adjusting pressure instead of fixed. Twenty minutes of setting changes resolves most of these complaints.
Behaviour and noise
The other half of what makes people give up.
You take it off in your sleep. Very common in the first fortnight and usually a mask fit or pressure problem your unconscious brain has objected to. The data tells us what time it came off, which tells us why.
Claustrophobia. Start with nasal pillows rather than a full-face mask, and desensitise while awake watching television. Nobody should be told to just persist with it.
Noise bothering your partner. Modern machines are around 26 decibels — quieter than most bedroom fans. If yours is loud, it is usually a leak or a filter, both quickly fixed.

THE FINE PRINT
What matters beyond the price tag
Health fund rebates
Most top-level extras policies rebate $500 to $1,000 on a CPAP machine, usually once every five years, and some cover masks annually. We check your entitlement before you buy — it often decides which machine makes sense.
Masks are the whole game
We stock three manufacturers and around twenty mask styles, and you try them on in the clinic rather than choosing from a picture. If a mask does not work out inside thirty days we swap it once at no charge.
Machines bought elsewhere
We will download the data, review your pressures and fit you a better mask even if you bought the machine online or from a competitor. $85 for the appointment, no lecture attached.
No rental, no contract, no direct debit
You own the machine outright from day one. There is nothing to cancel, no minimum term, and no ongoing fee to keep using something you have already paid for. If you move interstate, the machine goes with you.
Home sleep studies are usually bulk billed with a referral
