Six clinicians, and what each is genuinely good at
All are registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. Fit matters more than credentials in this work, so the profiles below say who each person tends to work well with — and reception will steer you rather than book you with whoever is free soonest.
Who you will be booked with
Nobody here carries a caseload they did not assess. If you book with Elena you see Elena, including for your follow-ups.
Dr Marcus Feld
Marcus spent eight years in Queensland Health before opening this practice, much of it in trauma services. He works with police, ambulance, fire and health staff, and he holds two evening slots a week specifically for shift workers. His view is that trauma treatment should be paced by the client and finished when it is finished, not extended indefinitely.
- MPsych (Clinical), PhD

- EMDR Association of Australia
- APS member
Current wait: 4 weeks · Sees adults 18+, emergency services and healthcare workers
Elena Sarkis
Elena carries most of the anxiety and OCD caseload and runs the exposure work. She is direct, she will give you homework, and she will tell you at session four whether this is moving. She holds two of the four early-morning slots each week, for people fitting sessions in before work.
- BPsych (Hons), MProfPsych
- Psychology Board of Australia
- Special interest: OCD and exposure therapy
Current wait: 2 weeks · Sees adults and young adults 16+
Dr Ruth Oyelaran
Ruth works with depression, grief, and the psychological side of chronic and terminal illness — the last of which very few private practices take on properly. She also supervises the provisional psychologists placed with us from UQ and QUT.
- DPsych (Clinical)
- Psychology Board of Australia · clinical endorsement
- Board-approved supervisor
Current wait: 3 weeks · Sees adults 18+, including palliative and oncology referrals
Jess Amberley
Jess sees the 13 to 18 age group and is the person schools around Paddington and Bardon ring when a student stops attending. She is explicit with teenagers about what does and does not go back to their parents, which is the only way that work functions.
- BPsychSc, MEd & DevPsych
- Psychology Board of Australia
- Special interest: school refusal and adolescent anxiety
Current wait: 2 weeks · Sees adolescents 13–18 and their families
Reception will help you choose
Fit matters more than credentials. Call and describe what is going on, and reception will suggest who to book with rather than whoever is free soonest.
