Vets for dogs, cats & small furries

Medicine for pets. Plain English for you.

Fernbrook has its own surgical suite, dental room and lab under one roof — and a house rule that every treatment gets an itemised estimate and a plain-English explanation before anything happens.

Why plain English matters

Your pet can't ask questions. You should.

Veterinary medicine has the same jargon problem as human medicine, with an extra twist: the patient can’t describe the pain and the bill lands on someone who loves them. So we explain everything twice — once in clinical terms for the notes, once in kitchen-table English for you.

And every estimate is itemised before treatment, because ‘do whatever it takes’ should be a choice, not an ambush.

What we do

From boosters to surgery, in-house.

Three tiers of care, one building, no external referral for the everyday serious stuff.

Routine & preventive

Vaccinations, health checks, weight and dental clinics — most run by our nurses, priced for regularity.

Diagnosis & treatment

Same-day appointments for the ‘something’s wrong’ visits, with lab and imaging in-house so answers come in hours.

Surgery & dental

Neutering to soft-tissue surgery and dental work in our own suite — your pet stays with the team they know.

What owners say.

★★★★★
“The estimate came before the treatment, itemised, with the vet talking me through each line. First practice that's ever treated me like I could handle information.”
Naomi W., SHERWOOD

Owner of Bram, elderly spaniel

★★★★★
“Blood results back the same afternoon because the lab's downstairs. With a poorly cat, that speed is everything.”
Callum D., CORINDA

Owner of Juno, dramatic tabby

★★★★★
"The nurses’ weight clinic was kind and practical about it — no judgement for how long we’d let it slide."
Sylvie A., GRACEVILLE
Owner of Pickle, reformed snacker
