Who cuts
Four barbers, forty-odd years on the floor between them.
The shop has been in the family since my grandfather took the lease on this stretch of Bridge Street. He cut hair here for thirty-one years, my father for twenty-six, and I have been at it since I was nineteen.
We train our own. Everyone here started sweeping, spent a year on towels and shampoo, and did not touch a paying head until they were ready. It is slow and it is why we do not have a bad chair.
