How appointments work here
Two kinds of booking: pre-booked appointments you can make weeks ahead, and same-day slots released at 7:30am each morning. Knowing the difference is the trick to getting in when you need to.
Plan ahead, or ring at 7:30am
Pre-booked appointments
Plan ahead. For anything that is not urgent — care plans, skin checks, reviews, screening, forms. Book by phone or online, choose your own GP, and ask for a longer appointment if you need one.
Same-day slots
Today. Released at 7:30am each morning for problems that began in the last day or two. Ring at 7:30 rather than 9 — they go quickly. Under-fives are fitted in on the day, whatever the list looks like.
FIRST VISIT
Bring these to your first visit
Medicare card
Or the digital card in your phone wallet. We can look it up if you have neither.
Concession cards
Pension, Health Care or DVA card — this is what determines bulk billing.
Your medication list
A photo of the boxes is perfectly adequate. Include vitamins and anything over the counter.
Recent results
Anything from another practice, hospital or specialist in the last year, if you have copies.
RECORDS
Transferring your records
Sign one form at reception and we request your history from your previous practice. It usually arrives within a fortnight. Most practices charge a small transfer fee, which is theirs, not ours — we do not add anything on top.
Do not wait for the records to arrive before booking. Come in, tell us what you are on, and we will manage from there.
Same-day appointments released at 7:30am, Monday to Saturday
Ring first thing for anything that started in the last day or two. Pre-booked appointments can be made weeks ahead for everything else.
