SERVICES
General practice, plus a proper nurse clinic
A lot of what people wait weeks to see a GP about can be done by our practice nurses at a shorter, cheaper appointment. Where that is the case, reception will offer it.
What we do, grouped
Twelve things, in three groups. If yours is not on the list, ask reception — most of what we see is a version of one of these.
Everyday general practice
The bulk of what walks through the door.
- Standard consultations. Acute illness, injuries, prescriptions, referrals and the ordinary work of a family doctor. Private or bulk billed.
- Telehealth consultations. Phone appointments for results, script renewals and follow-ups, provided you have attended in person in the last twelve months.
- Repeat prescriptions. Always with a consultation — medication reviews are how problems get caught.
- Referrals to specialists. Written on the day, with the reasoning included, plus our own waiting-time notes on the specialists we use.
Preventive & planned care
Mostly bulk billed, because prevention should not have a barrier.
- Chronic disease management plans. For diabetes, heart, lung and kidney conditions, including five subsidised allied health visits a calendar year.
- Health assessments. Over-75 assessments, 45–49 year-old preventive checks, and annual health checks for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
- Immunisation. The entire national schedule for children and adults, plus flu and shingles, held on site.
- Cervical screening. Five-yearly HPV screening, with self-collection available if you would rather.
Procedures & clinics
Done here rather than referred away.
- Skin checks & excisions. Full-body dermoscopy examination, with biopsies, excisions and repairs performed in our procedure room. Quoted before booking.
- Iron infusions. A two-hour appointment with nurse monitoring throughout.
- Implants & IUDs. Contraceptive implant insertion and removal, plus IUD insertion.
- Travel medicine. Country-specific advice, a full vaccine schedule, and yellow fever certification — an approved centre.
NOT SURE
Not sure whether to see a GP or the nurse?
Describe it to reception. They book hundreds of these a week and will offer you the right appointment type the first time.
Same-day appointments released at 7:30am, Monday to Saturday
Ring first thing for anything that started in the last day or two. Pre-booked appointments can be made weeks ahead for everything else.
