Clayfield Skin
Full-body examination under dermoscopy, photographic mapping of anything of concern, and a written outcome before you leave. $145, with $69.20 back from Medicare.
Family history of melanoma, previous skin cancers, sunburn history, time worked outdoors, and any spot you are specifically worried about.
If something has changed, that gets looked at first and properly, before the general examination.
Scalp to soles, including between the toes, behind the ears, and the nail beds. Every lesion of concern goes under the dermatoscope.
Anything being monitored is photographed and measured — the comparison this is built for at your next check.
What was found, what is being watched, what needs removing, and when to come back. A letter goes to your GP the same day.
Cryotherapy for sunspots is included in the appointment, and a biopsy can usually be done then and there rather than at a second visit.
Operating facts about how a check runs here — not claims about how anyone’s skin turned out.
Two things that make the examination faster and more accurate.
No nail polish on toes or fingers, no fake tan, and please skip makeup — melanoma occurs under nails and on faces, and we cannot see through either.
You will undress to your underwear. A chaperone is available on request and the doctor will tell you what they are examining as they go.
If a specific spot has changed, say so when you ring and we will prioritise you. Full checks are usually available within a fortnight.
