Programmes, Broken Down By What You'll Actually Do

Diet and detox weeks, six-week teacher-training blocks, and silent retreats — listed by what’s included, not by how the brochure describes it.

The Three Programme Types

Diet & Detox Weeks

Seven or fourteen days, built around an Ayurvedic kitchen rather than a menu of choices. Expect khichdi, no coffee after the second day, and a consultation on day one that sets what you eat for the rest of the stay. Alcohol isn’t policed, but nobody’s pouring it for you either.

Teacher Training, on a Fixed Calendar

200-Hour and 300-Hour Blocks

Six-week blocks starting in November and again in January, capped at eighteen trainees so the asana clinics stay useful. The 300-hour add-on runs straight after for anyone who already holds a 200-hour and wants the extra depth.

Silent Weeks, Clearly Marked

No phone reception past the gate, meals eaten in silence, and a single hour of talking permitted after the evening session — we flag which shalas actually enforce this rather than just advertising it.

We ring each shala in early October, before the season starts, and confirm which teacher-training dates are actually running, because half the calendars online are a year out of date.
