Fee-only financial planning

Our fees are in dollars. Most are in percentages.

Retirement and later-life planning for Brisbane people who want to know exactly what the advice costs and exactly what it is buying. The first meeting is free and deliberately advice-free.

Why the fee matters

A percentage fee sounds small and compounds like everything else.

One per cent a year does not feel like much next to a portfolio, but over a twenty-year retirement it is a very large number, and it rises every time your fund does — whether or not the work has changed. We charge a flat annual fee in dollars, reviewed once a year, and we will show you the arithmetic on both approaches for your own numbers before you decide.

What we do

Three kinds of work

All of it fee-only, which means we are paid only by you and can recommend from the whole market rather than one provider’s shelf.

Retirement planning

What you can sustainably draw, when you can stop, and what happens to it all if you live to ninety-eight. Cashflow modelling in real numbers.

Reading glasses and a closed folder on a desk

Pensions

Reviewing what you have, whether consolidating helps or costs you guarantees, and how to draw it in the most sensible order.

Later life and estate

Care fee planning, inheritance tax, gifting and the conversations families put off. Often the most valuable work we do.

The firm

Fee-only and deliberately small

★★★★★
The first meeting was an hour of questions and no recommendations at all. I left with a much clearer idea of what I was even asking, which was not what I expected.

They showed me the percentage fee and the flat fee side by side over twenty years for my own super. Nobody had ever shown me that.

They told us plainly that our existing pension carried a guarantee worth keeping, and did not try to talk us into moving it anyway.

The first meeting is free, and no advice is given in it. That is the point.
