TREATMENTS
We do six things. Not thirty.
A clinic offering forty treatments is not expert in forty treatments. If what you want is not on this list, we will tell you who in Brisbane does it properly rather than attempting it.
What we do, and who each one is for
Every entry says what it will and will not do — the second half is the part most clinics leave out.
Anti-wrinkle injections
A prescription muscle relaxant injected in small amounts to soften the lines made by movement. Takes three to five days to begin working and about two weeks to settle fully.
It softens lines caused by movement. It does not improve skin texture, pigmentation or lines that are there when your face is still.
Dermal filler
Hyaluronic acid gel placed to restore volume or improve proportion. We treat one area per visit and review before adding more — the most common mistake in this industry is doing too much in one sitting.
One millilitre is about a fifth of a teaspoon. Anyone promising a dramatic change from a single syringe is either overfilling or overselling.
Skin needling
Controlled micro-injury that triggers collagen production. A recognised option for acne scarring and skin texture over a course of three sessions a month apart. Two days of looking sunburnt afterwards.
Results build slowly and the photographs never look as dramatic as the marketing ones. It is a real treatment with modest, cumulative results.
Medical peels
Prescription-strength acid peels graded to your skin type and concern. Particularly useful for melasma and sun-related pigmentation, which is most Queensland faces over forty.
Pigmentation returns without daily sunscreen. A peel without sun protection afterwards is money set on fire.
Hyperhidrosis treatment
A medical rather than cosmetic use of the same muscle relaxant, injected across both underarms. Attracts a Medicare rebate for patients who meet the criteria — we will tell you at consultation whether you are likely to qualify.
Cosmeceutical skin plan
Thirty minutes, a written routine of four products at most, and no obligation to buy them from us. Frequently the right first appointment.
If a clinic sells you eleven products, nine of them are for their margin, not your face.
BOUNDARIES
What we will not do
Treat you on the first visit
The seven-day cooling-off period applies to everyone, including people who have had treatment elsewhere for years.
Treat under-18s cosmetically
No exceptions, with or without parental consent. There is no cosmetic case for injectables in a face that is still growing.
Chase a look from a photograph
Bring reference images by all means — but faces are not transferable, and we will tell you plainly what your anatomy will and will not do.
Overfill to hit a price point
If two millilitres is genuinely what a plan needs, we will say so. If one is enough, we are not going to find a reason for the second.
Consultations are usually available within a week
Forty-five minutes, $50, credited against treatment if you proceed. A written plan and a total you take away, then seven days to think about it — every time, for everyone.
