You don't get cleared on a feeling. You get cleared on a number.
RETURN-TO-SPORT TESTING

Cleared on numbers

Seven tests, benchmarked against your uninjured side. Included in your appointment fee, repeated at every phase change, and emailed to you as a chart.

THE TESTS

What actually gets measured

Six of these are numbers you either hit or you do not. The seventh is not a number at all — a physio and a strength coach watching your sport’s hardest movement at full pace, and signing off together.

Isometric quad strength. Measured on a handheld dynamometer at 60° of knee flexion. ≥90% symmetry.

Isometric hamstring strength. Tested in inner and outer range. ≥90% symmetry.

Single-leg hop for distance. Three attempts each leg, best recorded. ≥90% symmetry.

Triple hop. Three consecutive hops for distance. ≥90% symmetry.

Side hop, 30 seconds. Lateral hops over a 40cm line, counting successful reps. ≥90% symmetry.

Y-balance reach. Single-leg reach in three directions. Less than 4cm difference.

OUR FIGURES

How the testing itself is run

The evidence on returning to sport after a serious knee or hamstring injury is consistent: athletes who pass objective criteria before returning reinjure less often than those cleared on time elapsed and how it feels alone. These four figures are about how that gets run here, not a promise about how you personally will do.

REPORTING

Who gets the report

You, always. Your surgeon, your GP, your coach or your club physio if you ask us to send it — and only if you ask. Clubs sometimes want it before you are ready to share it, and that decision is yours.

Injured this weekend? We hold Monday slots.

Answered from 6am weekdays. Mention it is a weekend injury and you will get one of the three we hold every week.
