Nobody here will hand you a meal plan you won’t follow past Wednesday.
Two Accredited Practising Dietitians, working from what you actually eat and the week you actually have. We sell no supplements, no shakes, no meal-replacement programs and no detoxes — there is nothing here for us to upsell, which changes the advice.
How this clinic runs
Four facts about how appointments here are booked and paid for. None of them is a claim about how quickly your own problem will resolve — nobody can promise you that.
Practising above the shops on Oxford St.
Typical wait for a first appointment.
Revenue from products. We sell none.
Medicare-rebated visits a year, with a GP care plan.
Reasons people come in
IBS & FODMAPs
Properly supervised elimination and reintroduction — not a permanent low-FODMAP diet, which is a common and harmful mistake.
Type 2 diabetes
Carbohydrate management that fits how you eat, alongside your GP and your medication rather than instead of it.
Cholesterol & blood pressure
What actually moves the numbers, which is not what the supplement aisle suggests.
Coeliac disease
Life after diagnosis — label reading, eating out, cross-contamination, and what nobody tells you in week one.
Disordered eating
Non-diet, weight-inclusive support. We work with a psychologist and refer on where a full team is needed.
Pregnancy & fussy eaters
Nutrition in pregnancy, and the toddler who will only eat four foods. Both far more common than people admit.
Things you will not be told here
No detoxes or cleanses
Your liver and kidneys do this continuously and for free. No product, juice or tea improves on them.
No food intolerance blood tests
IgG intolerance testing is not supported by evidence and is not recommended by any allergy body in Australia.
No supplements sold here
Where one is genuinely indicated — iron, B12, vitamin D, folate in pregnancy — we tell you which one and you buy it at the chemist for less.
No 12-week programs
A fixed-length paid program is a business model, not a clinical decision.
No moralising about food
No clean foods and no dirty ones. Food you enjoy and will actually eat is part of the plan, not a lapse from it.
No weigh-in unless you want one
Weight is optional at every appointment, and blind weighing is available. We do not use BMI to diagnose anyone.
One of those words is protected. The other is not.
“Nutritionist” is not a regulated title in Australia. Anybody may use it, with any level of training or none. Some nutritionists are excellent and university-qualified; others did a six-week online course.
“Accredited Practising Dietitian” is a credential with a four-year degree, supervised placements, mandatory annual professional development and a formal complaints process behind it — and it is the only one Medicare and health funds will rebate.
- Four-year accredited degree: required for an APD, not required to call yourself a nutritionist
- Medicare rebate: available for an APD, not available otherwise
- Formal complaints process: yes for an APD, varies otherwise

Fair questions
The things people ask before they book.
What is the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
“Nutritionist” is not a protected title in Australia — anyone may use it regardless of training. “Accredited Practising Dietitian” requires a four-year accredited degree, supervised clinical placements, audited annual professional development and a formal complaints process. It is also the only credential Medicare and health funds will rebate. Both of us are APDs, verifiable on the Dietitians Australia register.
Will you give me a meal plan?
No, and that is deliberate. Prescribed meal plans have poor adherence — they assume a week without a late meeting, a sick child or a birthday. You will leave with two or three specific changes chosen from options, written down, that fit the week you actually have.
Do you sell supplements or programs?
None. No supplements, shakes, bars, gut-testing kits, intolerance tests or 12-week programs. The appointment fee is the only money that changes hands here.
Do I need a referral?
Not to book. A GP referral with a Chronic Disease Management care plan is what unlocks the Medicare rebate — five visits a calendar year at about $60 back each. Most people who qualify have simply never been told to ask.
Will you weigh me?
Only if you want to be weighed. It is optional at every appointment and blind weighing is available. We also do not use BMI to diagnose anything; it is a population statistic that says very little about an individual.
First appointment usually inside a fortnight
Telehealth available statewide at the same fee. Tell us what the referral is for when you ring and we will book you with whichever of us is the better fit.
