AQF5 arborist on staff · $20m insured

Half the trees people want removed don't need removing.

We’ll tell you which half yours is in. Removal, pruning, storm work and council permits across Brisbane — by qualified arborists, not a bloke with a chainsaw and a ute.
Send a photo of the tree and we can often price it without visiting.

    What we do

Five jobs, and an opinion you can trust

    Tree removal

Sectional dismantling where there’s no drop zone — over pools, roofs and neighbours’ fences. Crane hire for the ones that need it.

    Pruning & crown work

Crown thinning, lifting and deadwooding to AS 4373. Not topping — topping kills trees slowly and makes them more dangerous.

    Stump grinding

Ground 300mm below surface so you can turf, pave or build over it. Narrow machine fits through a 900mm gate.

    Storm & emergency

Trees on roofs, across driveways, hung up in lines. Two-hour response through storm season, documented for your insurer.

    Arborist reports

For council applications, development approvals, pre-purchase checks and neighbour disputes. Written by our AQF5 arborist.

    Worried a tree's unsafe?

Send photos of the trunk base, the canopy and whatever it could fall on. Honest read, no charge.
    Why Bluegum

Anyone can own a chainsaw. Very few should be in your canopy.

Tree work is one of the most dangerous trades in the country and largely unregulated at the low end. The cheapest quote is frequently someone uninsured, unqualified, and about to remove a tree that needed a permit — leaving you with the fine.
We check protection status before quoting Significant Landscape Tree register, vegetation overlays, street trees. If it’s protected we say so and handle the application.
Qualified arborist, not just a climber An AQF5 arborist assesses every job. That’s the difference between “it looks dodgy” and a defensible structural assessment.
Insurance you can verify Certificates emailed with every quote. If an uninsured operator drops a limb through your roof, that becomes your problem.
We’d rather prune it than fell it A mature tree is worth real money in shade and street appeal. Removal is a smaller job for us and usually the wrong advice.
    Warning signs

Five signs a tree needs looking at

Worth checking before storm season. Any of these and a free assessment is warranted.

    Dead or hanging branches

Dead wood over a house, shed or driveway can drop without warning in wind.

Cracks, splits or a weak fork

A split in the trunk or a tight V-shaped fork is a structural fault, and it does not heal.

    Fungus at the base

Mushrooms or brackets on the trunk or roots can mean decay inside the tree.

    Leaning, or the soil lifting

A tree that has moved recently, or heaved the ground beside it, is failing at the roots.

    A thin or dying canopy

Bare tips and sparse leaves out of season point to stress, disease or root damage.
    Before a saw starts

What you get with every job.

Qualified, insured and quick, and it is written into the quote.

    What customers say

“Two companies quoted to remove our poinciana. Bluegum said it was structurally sound, reduced the canopy instead, and it’s thriving. Saved us $2,000 and the tree.”
    Dave M.
    CAMP HILL
“Gum came down across the driveway at 9pm. They were here by 11, had it cut clear by 1am, and sent a written report for the insurer the next morning.”
    Priya N.
    ASHGROVE
“We needed an arborist report to get a granny flat approved. Theirs was thorough enough that council came back with no further questions.”
    Ken R.
    THE GAP
    Where we work

    All of Greater Brisbane

Three crews. Storm callouts are dispatched by postcode, so the nearest truck comes rather than the next available one.

Get it sorted before storm season

Deadwooding a canopy in September costs a fraction of clearing it off your roof in January.
