The practice stayed small on purpose.
Ashworth Dental opened as a two-chair practice on Cavendish Road, Coorparoo in 1998, and it is still a two-chair practice. Every offer to add a third surgery, or a second site, has been turned down. Two dentists means you see the same one every time, and neither of them is managing five other branches by phone.
The forty-minute first appointment is not a marketing figure. It is roughly how long it takes to look properly, take a history, and explain what is actually wrong before anyone reaches for a drill. Staying small is the only way the practice has found to keep that time free.
