About

Eighteen years reading charts, and still sceptical in the useful ways.

I take the craft seriously, which includes being honest about what it can and cannot do.

Who I am

I came to this from comparative religion, not from a magazine column.

Astrology is a symbolic tradition several thousand years old with a genuine intellectual history, and most of what reaches people is a thin commercial residue of it. I got interested in the real thing, learned classical and modern technique properly, and have been reading for others since 2008.

I hold no view about mechanism and I do not need you to. What I can say is that the symbolic language is unusually good at helping people articulate things they already sensed, and that this is worth doing carefully rather than theatrically.

How I practise

Four commitments

The first two are why some people go elsewhere, which is fine.

◆

No predictions

I will not tell you what will happen, when you will marry, or how long anyone has. That is not what a chart is for.

◆

Not advice

Readings are for insight and reflection. They are not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and I will say so if you are near any of those.

◆

Technique, shown

I will tell you which placement I am reading and why. Nothing is asserted from authority you cannot check.

◆

You keep everything

The chart, the recording and my notes are yours. Nothing is held back to require a follow-up booking.

What a reading is like

Four things to expect

Ninety minutes, on video, recorded for you.

Preparing before the conversation begins

Preparation first

I spend two or three hours with your chart before we speak. You are not watching me read it cold.

A conversation, not a monologue

A conversation

Not a monologue. The useful part is usually you saying ‘that is oddly accurate, except’ and us following it.

The conversation, recorded to keep

A recording

Sent within a day. Most people find the second listen more useful than the live conversation.

Notes to take away and keep

Written notes

The chart itself and a summary of the placements we discussed, so you can go further on your own.

The practice

Since 2008

Small, unhurried, and mostly by word of mouth.

Those two things make for a far better reading than either one on its own.
