Every finding in the report was seen on your floor, on the day, by the person who wrote it up.
Machinery guarding and isolation — the single most common reason a small manufacturer fails.
COSHH and substance storage — what is held, where, and whether the sheets match what is on the shelf.
Training and competence records — usually present, usually not evidenced in the way an audit expects.
Fire, escape and permits — including the routes that are technically clear and practically not.
Your written system — read against what the floor actually does, which is the gap that costs people.
Three steps, about three weeks
One
A half-day on site
We walk the floor with whoever runs it. No notice period, no staged tidy-up — a cleaned-up workshop tells us nothing useful.
Two
A written report inside five days
Findings ranked by what would actually stop production, not by clause number. Photographs against each one.
Three
A call to work through it
Forty minutes on what to do first. Most of the list is cheaper than people expect; we say so when it is not.
You keep the report either way.
One fee, agreed before we come
£2,400
£1,450
Introductory rate for first-time clients, held until the end of the quarter. Includes the visit, the report and the call. Travel within two hours of Leicester is included; beyond that we agree it first.
“We had passed every audit for nine years and still could not have told you where the gaps were. The report found four. Two of them we fixed the same week.” — operations manager, joinery, Coalville
Questions we get asked first
Before the visit
Do we need to prepare anything?
No. Preparing for it defeats the point — we are looking at the ordinary week, not the tidy one.
Will this stop production?
No. We work around the floor and we do not need machines stopped except briefly for guarding checks.
Who needs to be there?
Whoever actually runs the floor. Not necessarily whoever owns the paperwork.
After the report
It usually is on the first visit. It is ranked, and the call exists so you are not working out the order on your own.
What if the list is long?
No, and we would not want to — an auditor who sells you the remedy has an obvious reason to find one.
Do you fix the findings too?
Anything else, ask on the call. There is no charge for asking before you book.
Find the gaps before someone else does
One visit, one report, one call. Fixed fee, agreed before we travel.
