Kestrel Optometry is owned by the two optometrists who work in it, not by a chain with a frames target to hit each quarter. That distinction shows up in small ways: a reglaze suggested instead of a new pair, a test that runs the full thirty minutes rather than being squeezed to fit in the next slot.
The practice has been on Latrobe Terrace since 2009, above the bakery, and has stayed that size deliberately. Growing into a second site would mean a manager standing between the optometrists and the patients, and neither partner wants that job.
