Six years of unwrapping boxes of roses that had been on a plane for two days and had no scent at all. It was skilled work and I learned a great deal, but I could never quite get past the waste of it.

Foxglove & Twine buys from four growers within an hour of here, plus a cutting patch of our own that supplies most of the foliage from May. It means a shorter list and a lot more conversation, and I have never once wanted to go back.
