A mixed practice covering the Boonah district since 1994. Consulting rooms in town, and a vet in a ute when you need one.

BOONAH, SINCE 1994

Why the vets on call are always ours.

Most mixed practices sold their out-of-hours cover to a central agency years ago; it is cheaper and it lets the vets sleep. Fern & Field looked at that arrangement and decided against it, because the person who answers a 3am call about a calving needs to already know the farm, the gate code, and the animal.

That decision is why the practice still runs its own rota across six vets rather than a shared one across a dozen practices. It costs more to staff. Thirty years on, it is still the reason clients here tend to stay for decades rather than switch to whoever is nearest.
