Short bio

Dan Kovac writes and speaks about leadership when the plan runs out — logistics under pressure, decisions made with bad information, and the habits that hold a team together anyway. A former logistics officer, he is the author of four books, including Hold the Line, and speaks to leadership teams on request.

Long bio

Dan Kovac writes about leadership on the day the plan stops working. Before writing, he spent years running logistics under pressure, first in uniform and then in private-sector operations, learning the same lesson in both: a plan buys you the first ten minutes, and after that it is entirely about the people holding the line. He is the author of four books on operational leadership, including Supply Under Fire, Chain of Command, The Night Shift Manual and, most recently, Hold the Line. He speaks to public and private sector leadership teams on request, in keynote, workshop and full-day offsite formats.
