About the book
When Bendigo’s last independent bookshop starts finding bodies instead of best-sellers, the shop’s owner has two choices: close early, or work out who’s doing it before the health inspector does.
Death by Due Date is the fourth case for the Bendigo Bookshop Mysteries — a whodunnit with strong tea, stronger opinions, and a cast of regulars who all had a motive.

“Everyone in this shop has an alibi. That’s what worried me.”
From Death by Due Date
“A good bookshop keeps secrets better than any diary.”

“Overdue fines are the least of what people owe each other.”
From Death by Due Date
The first thing I noticed was that the shop was too quiet for a Tuesday. Not shut-early quiet. Held-breath quiet.
The returns trolley was where it always was, wedged between Local History and the shelf nobody dusts. It was the extra pair of shoes underneath it that stopped me — that, and the fact they weren’t moving, and neither was whoever was wearing them.
I have run this bookshop for longer than I care to add up, and in all that time the worst thing to come back late was a library copy of a very long biography. This was going to take rather more explaining.
