ORTHOTICS & FOOTWEAR

The $650 device is the last resort, not the first quote.

Every price on this page is published, in order, because orthotic pricing is one of the least transparent parts of podiatry.

THE FOUR STEPS

Cheapest option first, every time

Nobody here earns a commission on a device, so the step you land on is a clinical decision, not a sales one. Every price below is published for exactly that reason.

01

Loading program & footwear change

A specific exercise program plus a written list of two or three shoe models, with the reason for each. We do not sell shoes, so there is nothing in the recommendation for us. No device, and nothing beyond the appointment fee.

02

Off-the-shelf insert — $80

A prefabricated device, heat-moulded in the room and modified with wedging or padding to suit your foot. Fitted and reviewed the same appointment, refundable within thirty days if it does not help.

03

Semi-custom device — $290

A prefabricated shell with custom posting, forefoot additions and heel modifications built onto it. Used when the off-the-shelf insert clearly helped but not quite enough. Ready in about a week.

04

Full custom orthotic — $650

A 3D scan and a shell made to your foot specifically. Warranted for unusual foot structures, significant deformity and high-risk diabetic feet. Adjusted free for twelve months, remade once at no charge if an adjustment cannot get it right.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

What people ask about the pricing

Straight answers about funds, footwear advice and what happens if a device does not help.

What does my health fund cover?

HICAPS at the desk. Consultations typically rebate $25 to $50. Orthotic devices usually sit under a separate annual limit of $200 to $400, and we check yours before quoting so you know the real cost before you decide.

Do you sell the shoes you recommend?

No. You get a written list of two or three specific models with the reason for each, and you buy them wherever they are cheapest, including online. There is nothing in the recommendation for us either way.

What if a device does not help?

Custom devices are adjusted free for twelve months and remade once at no charge if the adjustment cannot get them right. Off-the-shelf inserts are refundable inside thirty days.

What do orthotics actually do?

They redistribute load. They do not correct a foot’s structure permanently, they do not fix a flat arch, and wearing them does not weaken your feet either. That is genuinely useful for some problems and irrelevant for others.

First appointment usually inside two days

No referral needed. Two slots are held free every day for diabetic foot emergencies.
